'A terrific read - good fun, laugh out loud funny, glamorous locations'

Vanity, Revelry's sequel, starts with a boho beach wedding in Ibiza, and starts to question whether there are ever any 'happy ever afters'. The action crosses oceans and continents, from London to Ibiza, LA to New York, Paris to St Tropez, Tuscany to Paxos, the luxury of the Hamptons to the backpacker beaches of Thailand. It culminates in a road trip across the States, which actually made me laugh as I was writing it. I quite clearly had wanderlust while creating this one.
While Vanity is a sequel in the truest sense of the word, following the lives of Bella, Poppy and their friends, it also introduces some new characters. One of these is Natalia, a billionairess Ukrainian ex-hooker, who thinks that her life has no happy endings. Then there's Sam, who's trying to make ends meet moonlighting as a glamour model while studying at London University, and Swedish Lars, living in New York and recently dumped by both Merrill Lynch and his girlfriend, a Romanian stunner, who he realized, with retrospect, 'loved the banker, not the man.' One of my favourite minor characters in Vanity is Filthy Meadows, an ageing rock star living with his ex-groupie wife Heather (nee Maria Gonzalez) in Beverly Hills.
Vanity was immensely good fun to write, and - judging by the reviews - is just as much fun to read.
'I thoroughly enjoyed Vanity! I was so keen to be back in the lives of Poppy and Bella, and I was so immersed in their world that I finished the book in only a few hours! Wow. If you thought the first book was great then let me tell you, you are all in for a treat! Vanity is so addictive, I couldn't bear to be parted for it and spent a few glorious hours escaping into this wonderful novel.
The settings in the novel are perfectly chosen and the descriptions are stunning. I honestly felt as though I had been transported to New York and St Tropez whilst I was reading. I could picture every scene clearly in my mind and it felt as though I was there watching every scene unfold in front of me. I admit, it made me eager to go abroad on holiday and spend some time travelling around the world!
Vanity is funny, sexy, glamorous, and there is a lot of adventure and fun to be had for all! I genuinely can not wait to read more from Lucy Lord, and I am ever so excited about her future releases! Vanity is the perfect summer read, and is ideal for relaxing in the garden with - so buy yourself a copy, pour yourself a drink, and enjoy escaping into this fantastic novel.'
