Short stories

I've just written four short stories about each of the four major female characters in A Girl called Summer:

NEW YORK NIGHTS – Poppy has flown to New York to finish organising the joint stag do of her favourite GBFs (Gay Best Friends) Chase and Marco.. With the pressure on for the biggest and best Studio 54-themed bachelor night – and new husband Damian behaving most oddly – Poppy needs to be on top of her game!

LONDON NIGHTS – Bella and Andy need to finish packing up their London life before their blow-out ‘Goodbye London’ party tonight. But with a screaming baby, missing moving men and some kitchen calamities, will they ever be ready on time??

LA NIGHTS – Tamara Gold was Hollywood’s biggest wildchild, but the time has come to settle down at last with the man of her dreams: Jack Meadows, hunk of the moment, has finally proposed. But now she has to meet his parents – the celebrated rocker, Filthy Meadows and his fiery wife, Maria Gonzalez – ex-groupie and tiger mother. Will Tamara be able to keep her cool with her future in-laws?

IBIZA NIGHTS – Summer has been seeing her boss, David, on the sly for a few months now. But while David is keen to make things public, Summer isn’t quite so sure. With a night out with old friends on the cards, Summer needs to decide whether she can take their relationship to the next level, or if she needs to break free for good...

The stories are short - 5,000 - 6,000 words - but they're just as fun as they sound - I promise!

Last year I was lucky enough to be part of the brilliant Sunlounger anthology of travel-based short stories, written by some of the best female authors in the business. You can read my blog about it here.

Well, guess what? Sunlounger 2 is out this week, and it's bigger and better than ever, featuring over 80 authors! Read my latest blog about it, here.

My Asia Spa column

I've been writing the 'How to...' column for the utterly fabulous Hong Kong-based magazine Asia Spa for almost exactly eight years now. That's a lot of columns! You can take a look at some of the most recent ones here.

Journalism - a few articles

As I've mentioned, I started my writing career as a journalist - a worthy profession, even if the subjects I chose to write about were never those covered by Kate Adie. Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting some of the pieces I've most enjoyed writing. It's quite a lengthy business, though - so do forgive if progress isn't as rapid as I'd like!
